Persistent introduces AI-driven solution with Google Cloud to empower healthcare and life sciences

Digital engineering firm Persistent Systems has launched Pi-OmniKG, an AI-driven knowledge graph solution developed in collaboration with Google Cloud. The solution is designed to transform healthcare and life sciences by accelerating biomedical research, streamlining data mining processes, and delivering insights with greater speed and accuracy.

The name Pi-OmniKG combines “Omni,” reflecting its universal ability to handle diverse data, and “KG,” signifying Knowledge Graphs powered by Generative AI (GenAI). The solution addresses the challenges posed by traditional systems, which often struggle to integrate and analyse diverse datasets effectively, delaying the generation of actionable insights. By modernising data integration workflows and creating a unified knowledge base, Pi-OmniKG enables researchers to decipher complex relationships, make evidence-based decisions faster, and uncover hidden insights.

Biomedical research has historically been hindered by time-consuming and labour-intensive data mining processes. Pi-OmniKG tackles these issues by allowing direct querying of structured and unstructured data assets, whether internal or external, and creating a comprehensive knowledge base. This approach enables researchers to process data more efficiently, reducing the time required to generate hypotheses and enhancing overall research workflows. The solution also incorporates reusable components, offering built-in flexibility to meet specific client needs for smart decision support.

Developed using Google Cloud’s advanced technologies, including the Vertex AI platform, BigQuery, and Cloud SQL, Pi-OmniKG leverages GenAI capabilities to streamline workflows, standardise data, and enable seamless integration of diverse datasets.

In December 2024, Persistent Systems partnered with CoRover, a provider of AI services, to foster innovation in the field of multilingual conversational platforms powered by GenAI. As part of this collaboration, Persistent Systems will integrate its capabilities with CoRover's platform.
